Restaurant Assistant Manager

Summary
A leading Japanese company is seeking a Japanese-Bilingual Restaurant Assistant Manager. You will oversee operations for two restaurant locations: one in Hollywood and one in the South Bay area. This role includes managing customer service, staff supervision, and overall business operations. The ideal candidate will ensure operational excellence, maintain high-quality standards, and foster a positive work environment. Fluency in both English and Japanese is required.

Essential Duties

• Store Management: Oversee all operations, including customer service, staff management, and sales.
• Customer Service: Act as a server or barista as needed to support daily operations.
• Staff Management: Handle staff scheduling, foster a positive work environment, and oversee hiring and training.
• Quality & Hygiene Control: Maintain and improve product and service quality standards.
• Vendor & Inventory Management: Manage orders, vendor relationships, and inventory control, including exploring new vendors.
• Social Media & Reviews: Manage postings and respond to reviews on platforms like Google, Yelp, and Instagram.
• Financial Oversight: Understand and review P/L statements and assist in basic reporting.
• Administrative Tasks: Handle client, media, and administrative communications (e.g., registration, documentation, audits).
• Meetings: Lead and participate in meetings to review business performance and operational plans.
• Other duties may be assigned.
   

Working Hours, Working style
40 hours per week
Weekend availability is required; the manager will create their own schedule.

Woking Location
Hollywood, CA and South Bay, CA

• Candidates must be able to commute between the two locations.

Salary/Benefit
$68,640 - 70,000 (Full-time, Exempt)

Qualifications

• S​​​​​​​trong communication skills to engage with customers, staff, and vendors.
• Hands-on experience in restaurant service as a server (register and food service) or barista (espresso-based drinks).
• Ability to read and prepare basic P/L statements (P/L creation supported by an accounting firm).
• Driver’s license and ability to commute by car.
• Prior experience as a manager in the food or service industry.
• Fluent in both English and Japanese (spoken and written).
