Job Description

Position: Logistics Business Operation/Inbound Freight Forwarding Expert

Summary: A global logistics company is seeking an expert in Inbound Freight Forwarding to establish and manage logistics operations. The position will involve overseeing freight forwarding services, including tracking, drayage management, and managing the transportation of cargo across international routes, particularly from East Asia (China, Korea). The role requires leadership skills, including managing and mentoring team members, as well as handling operational issues and cost reduction strategies. Proficiency in logistics, team management, and communication is essential.

Essential Duties:

• Set up and hire employees to execute Freight Forwarding services.
• Manage all tasks related to freight forwarding, including ocean shipping freight forwarding, tracking, drayage management, settlement, and communication with customers, carriers, SSLs, customs house brokers, and reporting to upper management.
• Manage cargo transportation internationally, particularly from East Asia, utilizing sea, air, inland transportation, express, and distribution centers.
• Negotiate with SSLs, drayage companies, rail companies, and customers for operational issues, payments, and securing capacities.
• Analyze data to identify pending issues and work with related parties to resolve them.
• Implement logistics innovation and reinforce logistics execution capabilities to secure business competitiveness and stability.
• Oversee the operation and monitor profit and loss for business continuity.
• Establish innovation task plans and manage cost reduction progress.
• Operate a control tower-based communication channel to handle risks, exceptions, and implement countermeasures.
• Work closely with client operation teams for seamless logistics operations and remain responsive and flexible.
• Perform ad-hoc reporting and other job-related duties as required.

Salary/Benefit:

• Salary Range: $180,000 ~ $220,000 per year, plus an annual bonus of up to 10%.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 16 years of logistics freight forwarding experience, with expertise in international freight forwarding, warehouse operations, and transportation.
• Bilingual in English and Korean (excellent written and verbal communication skills required).
• Experience in international shipping logistics cost analysis, identifying trends, and optimizing transport routes.
• Proven leadership experience in managing a team and establishing transport plans.
• Proficiency in Outlook, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), including advanced Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to travel up to 30% for client meetings and industry events.
