【Position】
  Mechanical Engineer

【Summary】
  We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This candidate must be able to understand the inquiry of our customer in detail and will organize what we need to do such as investigation, planning, design, modification, manufacturing, installation and maintenance of customer’s machines. This candidate also maintains project schedules, costs’study and budgets.

【Essential Duties】

• Attend the meeting with the Customer(in the Automotive Industries) in order to clarify the required　specifications, conditions and other requirements
• Estimate the bill of quantities such as man-hours for planning, design, manufacturing, install and　adjustment, necessary equipment and materials etc. and prepare the draft of quotation.
• Understand the Customer requirements and what we need to do in order to meet the requirements.
• Finding appropriate mechanical suppliers/venders who will be able to do the required mechanical works.
• Design validation and varication, which includes analyses and tests as required.
• Creation of mechanical parts and assemblies to meet the requirements.
• Using CAD tools(soft wear), 2D drawings and 3D models of parts, machines and items to be required.
• Creating and maintaining status of the drawing list for the projects.
• Creating test request and design test set up as required.
• Provide a regular and clear status of all executed works and pending items.
• Review and address the followings items: Vender deviation requests, Material Review reports, Drawing　change requests, Problem reports
• Costs calculation of design, fabrications, install, adjustment and/or commissioning.
• Adjusting, troubleshooting, modifying of the machines and items to be required.
• Attending and communicating with Customer’s managers and engineers for specifications, requirements　and others and resolves the issues with professional and courteous manner.
• Attending and Communicating with Venders for specifications, requirements and others and resolves the issues with professional and courteous manner.
• Attending and Communicating with other SNAIs’ Engineers and resolve the issues.
• Managing and supporting small to large desktop workstation environments
• Site commissioning and installation
• Support software developers in their testing capabilities: Run unit tests and maintain/modify to establish code coverage while working directly with developers

【Qualifications】

• 5-years(or more) Experience with Mechanical engineering works for mainly automotive industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or college equivalent.
• Experience in applying engineering principles and industry standards, such as ASME, ANSI, and the customer’s standard.
• Adherence to OSHA and customer’s safety regulations.
• Experience in successfully executing projects deliverables including budgets and timelines.
• Experience in the specifications, design, fabrication, installation, test and commissioning of machines and items.
• Experience with engineering tools and methods for tasks such as experimentation, risk assessment, process control, and statistical analysis.
• Experience in design and implementation of automation systems for high-mix/low volume production.
• Produce quality designs within the schedule and budget.
• Provide timing charts, device lists and other support documents.
• Perform calculations for sizing, load capacities, deflections, force etc. as it relates to the machines and items.
• Analyze customer part prints and evaluate the effect geometric tolerance will have on the design.
• Evaluate tolerance to determine proper fits.
• Develop concept drawings and/or sketches as required.
• Select appropriate purchased components that fulfill the requirements of the applications.
• Design of manufactured components with forethought of set-up and machining while maintaining quality and good machine design practices.
• Attending and communicating with Customers, Venders for specifications, requirements and others and resolves the issues.
• Assist or lead design reviews both internal and external which include teleconferences and documentation for approval.
• Prepare the documentation for purchased component releases which include bill of materials and/or quotations.
• Prepare and complete documentation for customer which may include but not limited customer part print, assembly drawings and cut sheets of purchased components.
• Assist of mechanical commissioning.
• Working on Saturday, Sunday and other Holidays, if necessary.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing engineering for automotive industries.
• Knowledge of Factory Automation Systems for automotive industries.
• Ability to complete all security clearance requirements that may be required for the performance of the work. 
• Commitment to travel to our parent company head office in Aichi, Japan.
• Commitment to travel to and work on customer’s site in US, Japan and China for one month ~ six months.
• Understanding of automated build processes/practices and code management techniques.
• Ability to work independently
