Production Controller Manager

Summary
The role entails managing various aspects of scheduling, inventory, purchasing, and reporting within the company, with a focus on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. Key responsibilities include coordinating parts availability to prevent delays, developing strategies to minimize inventory, liaising with resin suppliers, placing purchase orders, setting up job schedules, and ensuring inventory control. Additionally, tasks involve capacity analysis and control, purchasing and inventory management, supplier evaluation, inventory accuracy checks, participation in APQP activities, and reporting on shipment status and inventory discrepancies. The role requires attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties

• Scheduling

• Parts available before ship date to avoid emergency freight and delay shipment
• Development of resin components strategy to minimize inventory
• Primary contact with all of company resin suppliers for pricing or delivery problems
• Place all purchase orders for resins and components and enter data into company computer control system
• Set up jobs in SAP and Mattec systems
• Issue the next weeks schedules every Thursday
• No excess or obsolete inventory
• Achieve establish inventory level for each part
• Control inventory minimize variance from month to month
•  Standardize product, Material and machine mix to eliminate waste
• Setting up machine, product and mold files in Mattec system

 

• Capacity Analysis/Control

• Select primary and backup machines for products
• Track and balance machine loads

 

• Purchasing

• Purchasing and Inventory control for resin, components, and packaging
• Rating of suppliers as required
• Manage approved supplier list

 

• Inventory Accuracy/availability

• Participate in monthly inventory counts
• Check work in progress inventory daily

 

• Reporting

• Catch up plans for any delayed shipment
• Potential delay shipments with corrective action plan
• Changes to the schedule
• Capacity status
• Report any inventory discrepancy

 

• Participate in all APQP activities
• Perform other specific duties as requested, directed, and assigned

Qualifications
