Network / Server Engineer

Summary
A company specializing in IT solutions (located in San Jose, CA) is currently seeking a Network/Server Engineer. In this role, you will play a vital part in setting up internal-office servers, PCs, networks, telephony hardware, and software for our esteemed customers. The position encompasses on-site installations, remote and on-site troubleshooting, and delivering extensive support for server, PC, network, telephony hardware, and software administration. Business trips may be necessary for installations and troubleshooting at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure internal-office server, PC, network, telephony hardware, and software for customers.
• Perform on-site installation of server, PC, network, telephony hardware, and software for
  customers.
• Perform troubleshooting for remote & on-site server, PC, network, telephony hardware, and
  software for customers.
• Provide support for server, PC, network, telephony hardware, and software administration to
  customers.
• Perform installation and troubleshooting at site (Business trips are required).
• Compose and issue work records and project records of installation and configuration for each
  customer.
• Report and archive actual solution and countermeasure of troubleshooting for future reference.
• Report the status of each project and troubleshooting progress to your team/project leader.
• Perform product research and market trend analysis as requested by your team leader.
• Draft proposal and/or quotation for customers as requested by your team leader.
• Control projects, vendors and sub-contractors for delivery and completion of projects on time.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft, Citrix, VMware, and other prominent software vendor products.
• Experience with Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and other leading network vendor devices.
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux, Windows server operation, and maintenance.
• Familiarity with security software and solutions for servers and PCs.
• Understanding of Local and Wide Area Network technologies.
• Expertise in virtualization and storage technologies.
• Ability and commitment to staying updated with the latest standards of the mentioned technologies to deliver appropriate IT solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Willingness to visit clients and work on-site as required.
• Fluency in both Japanese and English (business level).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
