【Position】
Accounting Manager

【Summary】
A Japanese food manufacturing company based in Hayward, Northern California is seeking an Accounting Manager.
This position will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including management of the accounting department, financial reporting, establishment of internal controls, and building a reporting system in compliance with US GAAP.
We welcome candidates with bilingual skills in Japanese and English, as well as experience in team management.

【Essential Duties】

• Manage, supervise, and provide guidance to the accounting team (2 or more staff)
• Oversee financial and management accounting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
• Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and credit risk
• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with accounting policies
• Ensure accounting processes and financial reports are in accordance with US GAAP
• Determine appropriate application of revenue recognition standards and collaborate with Sales and Customer Service teams
• Handle intercompany transactions and provide financial advice to group companies, including overseas subsidiaries
• Manage banking relationships, budget analysis, and supervise federal, state, and local tax filings
• Respond to internal and external audits and implement necessary corrective actions
• Lead improvements to ERP/accounting systems and define accounting-related requirements
• Recruit, train, and evaluate accounting staff
• Performs additional duties as directed by the organization and its parent or affiliated holding entity.

【Working Hours, Working Style】
Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (8 hours/day)

【Salary, Benefit】
Annual Salary: $100,000 – $120,000

【Qualifications】

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience with strong knowledge of corporate accounting
• Team management experience
• Knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
• Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to collaborate across departments
• Bilingual in Japanese and English preferred
