Position
Accounting Manager
Summary
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting at the manufacturing site, with a strong emphasis on cost accounting, inventory control, and financial planning. This role will work closely with plant leadership and corporate finance to ensure accurate cost tracking, financial integrity, and process improvements.
Essential Duties

• Lead the cost accounting function, including standard cost development, variance analysis (PPV, labor, overhead), and margin analysis.
• Manage inventory accounting processes across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods; ensure accurate physical inventory and cycle counts.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities related to the manufacturing operations.
• Analyze manufacturing cost drivers and develop actionable insights to support operational efficiency and profitability.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for plant-related costs, working closely with operations and corporate FP&A teams.
• Prepare and present financial reports, KPI dashboards, and cost performance summaries to senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, GAAP, and company policies.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff at the facility.
• Support cross-functional initiatives such as ERP implementations, audits, and process improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing cost accounting or plant finance role.
• Prior management or supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory control, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar), and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
