Position
Injection Manager

Summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven Injection Molding Department Manager to lead our injection molding operations. This role combines production management and process engineering responsibilities to ensure that all molded products are manufactured efficiently, on time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards. The successful candidate will manage daily operations, oversee process optimization, lead a production team, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Essential Duties

Production Management & Scheduling

• Plan and manage daily production schedules based on demand, inventory, and customer needs.

• Ensure optimal utilization of machines, materials, and manpower to meet production goals.

• Monitor performance metrics such as output, cycle times, scrap rates, and downtime.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and develop a team of process engineers, operators, and technicians in the injection molding department.

• Assign responsibilities, provide ongoing training, and handle performance evaluations.

• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and safety-conscious team environment.

Process Design & Optimization

• Analyze current manufacturing processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements to increase throughput and reduce costs.

• Utilize data-driven tools and statistical analysis (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) to improve process stability and part quality.

• Lead projects involving mold changeovers, material trials, and automation initiatives.

Quality Control & Assurance

• Implement and maintain quality control systems to ensure compliance with product specifications and industry standards.

• Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and drive corrective/preventive actions.

• Support documentation and audits for quality certifications and internal standards.

Maintenance & Equipment Oversight

• Coordinate with the maintenance department to ensure machines and auxiliary equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.

• Minimize downtime through proactive equipment monitoring and preventative maintenance scheduling.

Cost & Resource Management

• Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.

• Oversee raw material usage and inventory management to minimize waste and ensure availability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Act as a liaison between production, engineering, quality, procurement, and sales departments to ensure alignment and smooth production flow.

• Participate in cross-functional meetings and strategic planning sessions.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to OSHA and internal safety regulations.

• Conduct safety training, inspections, and incident investigations.

• Promote a culture of safety and continuous risk reduction.

Continuous Improvement

• Lead and participate in Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing activities.

• Recommend and implement new technologies or equipment that support business growth and operational efficiency.

Qualifications
​​​​​​​

• 5+ years of experience in injection molding production or process engineering, including leadership roles.

• Deep understanding of injection molding machines, tooling, thermoplastics, and related equipment.

• Proven experience in production planning, quality assurance, and lean manufacturing techniques.

• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.

• Proficient in interpreting data to guide decisions (e.g., SPC, OEE, root cause analysis).

• Technical degree in Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
