Purchasing Agent

Summary
The company is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to support its production operations by coordinating material orders and maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers. This position does not require negotiation or new vendor development, but instead focuses on ensuring timely procurement, inventory accuracy, and effective cross-department communication. Candidates with purchasing experience or administrative/coordinator backgrounds in a manufacturing environment are highly encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties

• Coordinates the ordering of raw materials and production supplies based on inventory levels and production schedules
• Maintains relationships with existing suppliers to ensure timely delivery and consistent quality
• Monitors inventory levels and updates records in purchasing or ERP systems
• Communicates with internal departments (production, warehouse, quality) to align material needs
• Follows up on open orders, delays, or discrepancies with suppliers
• Assists in maintaining accurate purchase documentation and pricing information
• Supports month-end and year-end reporting related to purchasing activities
• Ensures compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures

Mon–Fri 8am-5pm

Qualifications

• Prior experience in purchasing, supply chain coordination, or administrative roles in a manufacturing environment
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
• Ability to maintain effective communication with suppliers and internal departments
• Basic understanding of inventory management and procurement processes
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and purchasing or ERP systems
• Able to work independently and handle multiple priorities
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or vocational training in business or supply chain is a plus
